Ankle hang
From Silkworms
ankle hang:
from basic stand, wrap tail around behind top ankle and then across the tops of both feet. then lower your body, walking your hands down the pole and then letting go, until you're hanging upside-down by your ankles; as you transition from "standing on your feet" to "hanging by your ankles" turn your feet out slightly, toes away from each other, and make sure that your feet come on either side of the pole, trapping the tail against it.
in the final pose pictured at left, the tails are split for styling; they needn't be split or held with the hands at all.
i've included so many photos of the setup for this move mainly because i found it hard to believe how simple it was for a long time and i thought lavish photographic documentation might help to illustrate the point. it really is just "flip the tail over your feet and lower into position."
variant: double-wrapped ankle hang. for a bit more security, possibly for reassurance while learning the drop to ankle hang, after flipping the tail over your feet you can wrap it around both ankles and back over your feet again.
uses/builds on: basic stand
