for this glossary i've been referring to having the two fabrics separated and treated as separate supports as "split silks." split silks moves are perhaps significant for being things you can't do on corde lisse (single rope).

rebekah leach in her beginning aerial fabric instructional manual refers to the fabrics as "ribbons" when they are separated.
