safety:

the wrap or part of the fabric that's keeping you from falling to the floor. a lot of drops, in particular, consist of some wraps that will unwind as you fall plus some wraps that will tighten at the end and keep you from falling further; often those latter wraps will only hold properly if you keep a firm grip on the tail, and it's important to know that. it can also be reassuring to know that just paying attention to one thing will keep you from falling at the end of the drop (for some drops, anyway); if a drop works that way, we say that one thing is the drop's "safety."
