dive to crucifix:

(isabella drop, flag roll, unlocked roll, open helicopter) (argentina: caida a brazos, bandera, desenrolada bandera)

this is probably the conceptually-simplest windmill fall imaginable. you wrap the fabric around your body some number of times, then roll down as it unwinds, ending in a crucifix. the only problem is that a crucifix isn't that secure a position to end a fall in, so you have to really know what you're doing.

i haven't done this drop myself, which is why this description is so short. i gather there is some subtlety to placing hands on the wraps so that you end firmly grabbing either side of the crucifix.

i have also seen video of at least one performer doing this drop but ending it early by hooking a knee around the pole, instead of continuing to the crucifix.

links: here is a youtube video of someone doing this drop. they refer to it as "isabella drop" there; i don't know if the source of the name is the same, but in our group we first saw this drop and always think of it as the crazy drop at the end of isabelle chasse's silk act in the cirque du soleil show "quidam" (the setup starts at about 5:15 in this video). here is another video of this drop, on facebook.
